About Us

Care and Community was founded in July 2009 and developed by CEO, Becky
Bowar, when her program needed to expand to accommodate the needs of her participants. Becky has worked with Intellectually and Developmentally Disabled children and adults since 1995.

Over the years, Becky has been working with families in home, school and community settings. In 2022, Care & Community expanded adding Residential Services to the services we provide.

We believe supporting individuals and families in their own homes is crucial for fostering independence, dignity, and a sense of belonging. Our commitment to personalized care and community integration remains unwavering, as we continue to evolve and adapt to the changing needs of those we serve.

By offering comprehensive residential services alongside our existing programs, we strive to create environments where every individual can thrive and lead fulfilling lives within the comfort and familiarity of their own homes.

Donna

Program Manager

Hello, I'm Donna. I came to Care and Community a little over a year ago. I am the Program Manager, which means that I do a little bit of everything (like we all do!). When I'm on my time I enjoy traveling, cooking, camping, and spending time with my family. I absolutely love our staff and our participants! As challenging as they may be at times, I wouldn't trade any of them, or the experiences we've had, for the world. I've learned a lot over the last year and cherish every moment.

Since joining Care & Community in 2018, I have found immense fulfillment and satisfaction in my career choice. The opportunity to work closely with our clients and witness their remarkable progress in life skills and personal growth has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Prior to my tenure at Care Community, I actively engaged in various roles within my children's extracurricular activities. I served as a teacher's aide, Girl Scout leader, PTO member, and guard mom. Currently, I hold the position of President on the Board of Directors for my children's winter guard organization. I firmly believe that a life dedicated to service and giving back to the community is the most fulfilling path one can take. I am happily married to my husband of 26 years, and together we have raised four wonderful children. It has been an immense joy to witness their growth and development into responsible and accomplished adults.

Melanie

Hi, my name is Melanie Gardner. I grew up on a farm in Wyoming. I have one brother who works in the energy field helping to build the wind towers. I have been a nanny/caregiver for over 35 years. I have worked with an individual with disabilities for the past 27 years. I have also worked with Care & Community since 2014. Some of my favorite things to do are crafts, painting, knitting and crochet, reading, sewing and quilting, cooking and traveling. I also very much like to learn new things.
